Little Extras for the week

Hi Guys,
I hope you enjoyed your first day back at CC! I know I told you in class, however, I wanted to let you know again that you did an excellent job listening during Tin Wistle. Keep up the good work and we will be playing a song before you know it! Moms, remember to let them practice the Tin Whistle at home, focusing on naming the parts of the tin whistle (barrel, finger holes, mouth piece, fipple,) as well as the meaning of harmony and discord. And for the fun part, practice, practice, practice that D scale. Okay, so I love music and I think it is great that your child can be exposed to it. All of what we are learning in this music section will be of great benefit for later use with any other instrument.
Below is link to a Tin Whistle performance. It's only a couple minutes long and I thought the children may enjoy seeing the Tin Whistle being played at its fullest capacity. Expose them to some music while reviewing the parts of the Tin Whistle!

Below you will also find a link to a Magic School Bus episode on the Stars, a fun way to learn a little more about our science this week.

And last but not least, there is a link to a short video on the Protestant Reformation. This probably isn't something the Children will enjoy seeing, but it is a quick overview of the basics of the Protestant Reformation that may help you explain it to your children, if you are interested.

Protestant Reformation

We have another great presentation this coming week. Show us how to do something, Bring your favorite activity etc. and show us how to do it. We are working on gestures, using body movements to enhance your presentation. This presentation is usually only done by half the class. This week it would be Rhett, Annalise, Brooke and Eli. So, for those four come prepared. The other half of the class will present the following week

Well, that is all for now! Have a great week!

Kayla
