Last week prep!

Hey Moms,
Just a quick note to make sure we're all on the same page for our last week of CC!

Tara Upshaw will bring the snack during presentation.

The presentation theme is: My Favorite Stuffed Animal! Bring your favorite stuffed animal, but keep it hidden (behind your back or in a bag) and describe it to the rest of class. We will see if we can guess what your favorite animal is!

It has been a pleasure being your child's tutor for most of the CC year. I wish that you all will have a great break this summer! God bless.

Week 23 Prep!

Hey Moms,
Sorry for getting this message out so late...we've had a busy weekend! Anyway, I hope your little ones are getting all ready for another fun day at CC tomorrow! Here's a quick rundown for Presentation time.
Tara will be bringing the snack for Presentation time.
The topic for Presentations is: Pocket Treasure! Bring something small enough to fit in your pocket...describe it to us and let us guess what it is!
Please keep drilling the Geometry facts to your little ones...I can tell that they are beginning to master the facts, which is great! We'll practice as a class during review time.

  Have a great day!

Week 22 Prep!

Hey Moms,
CC Day is coming up quickly...so here is the rundown for this week's CC prep.

Jena Norris will be bringing the snack during Presentation time.

For Presentation this week, the theme is Recite a Poem! Have your child get ready to recite a short poem for Presentation time. It can be a nursery rhyme or a song (but no singing the song). The focus is a review of all of the elements of delivery during your child's presentation - confidence, eye contact, volume, articulation, poise, expression, gestures and tempo.

Please keep up the good work in regards to the drilling of the Geometry sentences. I could tell that the children had been working on them last week. The more that we drill the facts, the more engrained into their brains the facts will be! We will practice the geometry sentences and songs during the last few minutes of Review time.

  Have a great day!

Week 21!

Hey Moms,
Sorry that this e-mail is going out a little late...we've just gotten back from a well-deserved break in Texas! Anyway, here's the info you need to know for week 21.
Tammy will bring the snack for Presentation time.
Presentation will be the same as last week! So, make sure your little one is ready to make or do something in front of the entire class. I thought it went well last week; we finished just about exactly on time even with everyone presenting! So, let's do our best to make sure it goes just as smoothly tomorrow. The focus for tomorrow is Tempo: speak with appropriate speed - not too fast, and not too slow!
Also, we are beginning to work on our class presentation for this year's end of the year program. Our class will be reciting and singing all of the math facts that we learned dealing with Geometry (area of a rectangle, square, triangle, circle, and circumference of a circle). Please make sure to begin drilling these facts every day with your child - we want to know this material fluently and be able to give a good presentation for the end of the year ceremony.
One last thing, we will be finishing off our straw bridges in class tomorrow. Please encourage your child to do his/her best and especially to work with the other members on his/her team.
Have a great day, and I will see you all tomorrow!

Getting Ready for Week 20!

Hey Moms!
I hope you have been enjoying your week break from CC! But, I also hope that you are ready for another fun-filled day at CC this Tuesday!
On Tuesday, Adrienne has agreed to bring the snack for Presentations.
The Theme for Presentations this week is: Make or Do...show the class how you can make or do something. In the past we have done this with just half the class, because we will be doing the same theme for week 21 also. However, because our little ones tend to go through Presentation time quickly, I am asking for the entire class to be ready to present this week. The focus this week is Gestures - encourage your child to use body movements to enhance their presentation.
Have a great weekend, and I can't wait to see you all on Tuesday!

Week 19 Prep

Hey CC Moms,
Can you believe we're about to start the last 6 weeks of CC for the year?! It has been an amazing year, and my wife and I have been privileged to be your child's tutor. Let's get ready for a great week!
I will be bringing the snack during Presentation time.
The presentation theme is Show-n-Tell: Books! Bring your favorite book and tell us the story in your own words, while showing us the pictures. The focus is on Expression...make your voice interesting by varying your tone and volume and using pauses to enhance your presentation.
Have a great day. See you Tuesday!

Week 18 prep

Hey Moms!
I hope you have had a great week, and I am looking forward to class this Tuesday. Just as a reminder...
Tara will be bringing the snack for presentation.
The presentation will be Show-n-Tell Surprise...make sure your little one brings something that can fit in a pocket or small bag. Then, he/she describes it to the class, and we try to guess what it is! The focus is Poise - the ability to continue presenting, even if something goes wrong.
I will see you all on Tuesday.
